Director of Software Development

The Role:

  • You will be a key member of ARTBnk’s leadership team and be responsible for leading our SaaS application software development.  You will work closely with our Chief Product Officer, who leads the product management and data (quality) teams, to review requirements and ensure that the right functionality and optimal user experience is being developed.  

  • You will be responsible for all day-to-day software development, including team budgets and delivery schedules, leading a team of agile software developers located in Eastern Europe.

  • You are accustomed to a fast-paced software development environment and possess both strong technical and people skills. You can lead your team through finding the best technical approach to a problem as well as inspire them to do their best work.

  • You are passionate about leadership, collaboration and delivering outstanding experiences for ARTBnk users, customers, and employees.

 

Requirements:

  • B.S. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.

  • Fluent in English as well as Russian and/or Ukrainian.

  • 5+ years of software development management experience leading a distributed team of  ~20 software developers.

  • The ability to communicate and collaborate with both the executive and software developer teams. Be customer-oriented and willing to roll up your sleeves to get the job done.

  • Hands-on experience leading a SaaS development organization with Agile development methodologies, and working with a start-up or new venture.

  • Technical knowledge in the following areas: artificial intelligence, machine learning, deep learning, image recognition, and neural networks.

  • Experience with Java/Scala, Python, Apache Spark, Hadoop, databases, GitHub, Django, YouTrack, and SaaS deployments in AWS.

  • Passionate about making a difference and seeing one’s work transform an industry.
